Question: Is there a way to adjust the top so my driver side window doesn't hit the black canvas top? It touches on the right hand corner of the driver side. It just barely touches the black canvas everytime I open and close the door....it has actually torn the canvas......
It is my daily driver and I am a little concerned about replacing the top since I heard it will cost close to a grand....
The window is what needs adjusted.
Pop off the reflector on the inside lower door panel and you will see the adjustment.
If need be take the door panel off.

What Iceburgh is talking about is the Window tip-in adjustment, which is the angle of the top of the window. You might want to do a search, I know there have been quite few threads on this topic......
This is actually the best adjustment guide I have found.
Adjusting the tip in only made minor changes.
What really made the difference is the adjustment and jam nut where the vert top attaches to the body. Look at the pic abd description with the yellow arrow in the ref. link. I used a tire depth gauge to measure the adjustments and tried to make both sides as close as possible. I did a lot of research on this, and other than taking it to a apolstery shop, this is the best you can do. Not perfect, but 1000% better.
I fixed it by just keeping the top down all the time. Probably not what you are looking for but I think the top posts answered your questions.
I swear I had no idea what the original thread author was talking about with the window hitting the top and starting to tear the top etc... I actually had to go in the garage just now and put the top 'up' to see what he meant.
gotta love living in a high desert, sometimes I forget that top is even back there.
