I've heard several opinions on how long to retrain for the new airflow (100-200 miles). I hope someone can chime in with more specific numbers. As for your check engine light, did you reinstall the "gray pin" into your MAF sensor plug? I hope it didn't come loose.
yeah I plugged everything back in and rechecked to make sure nothing came loose, nothing had, i even turned the car off then back on see if it had cleared and its still on
You shouldn't have the check engine from the Blackwing. Something is not right with the install. Recheck (remove and reconnect the electrical connecters). Make sure the intake is tight.
Check the codes and tell us what comes up. That'll give you a better idea on what's the problem. While holding the option button, press fuel 4 times. For more info on how the codes work, use the search feature. Tell us what you find.

what's the code? i never had a problem after blackwing installed, but started getting some after headers with "modified" maf..
I had codes pop up after my Blackwing install. It ended up being that the hose from the Blackwing to the throttle body had come off slightly. I tightened it and never had another code.
The P0111HC is the code that causing the "check engine"light to come on, I can't access the code list from the computer that I'm currently using but here is the link that will show you what they mean and how to reset them Codes
I just followed this link Service manual and couldn't find P0111 but I did find P1111 and P0112 which both relate to the IAT sensor, I didn't see what year car you had and if your IAT sensor is seperate from the MAF or not but you may want to check it out
I just ran the code check on my car I bought last week. Is it normal to have about 12 codes in history for a 2001????
As long as none of them are current, I can erase all of my codes then come back an hour later and have 3 or 4 show up for communication between modules
possilbe oil on the MAF ill have to take it apart and clean it.
Contact Evil-Twin. He may have a solution because he is one of THEE men, when it comes to this stuff. Good luck. BTW, I had heard of similar issues, but not with BW. I would think that once the oil gets into the system, it may take a while for the light to go out. Ask E-T. Good luck. Keep us posted.
