Default First experiences driving the new C5

New to me, anyway...this is my first weekend with the 2000 Pewter FRC.

First few thigns I did were to get the oil changed (which I would normally do myself, but just moved into a house and the garage is completely full), get it detailed, and gas it up.

I pull into the service station for the oil change, and two techs come over to look at the car as on does the "we are not worthy" bow. They were all about 20 years old.

Get it detailed, and as I pull out of the place, literally every guy standing around is following me with an "Oh, wow" look on their face.

And...nothing interesting gettign gas, but I thought the other two were pretty funny, not bad for 24 hours.

Does this always happen...???

On my way to a family cookout Saturday. Red light as always at this corner in our small town. Sometimes makes you wait 2 cycles before you can go through

While sitting, easing forward for this light, I noticed the Senior Class at my old high school (15yr ago) was having a car wash. They solicited every car going through the intersection with whatever level of furvor.

Then I made it to the light.

These poor girls came unglued at the seams. Jumping up and down, waving, whooping and hollering at me.

All for not. Cuz I'm the only one who washes my car

I tipped my hat, smiled as charming as possible, nodded, wagged my finger, and lit up the GHL program.

I wasn't able to hear what they're reaction would have been, but I suspect it was part "What an A-Hole" and part "Dayum I wish he'd come back".

Get used to it. Just part of ownership.
