Default Heads And Cam ??????

I Have A 99 Frc And Was Wandering How Much Do The Stock Head Flow, and Would I Benifit From A Cam Change.would A 01 Z06 Cam Work With These Heads. Or Should I Port And Polish The Ls1 Heads Or Get Z06 Heads And Cam I Just Want To Match The Z06 Performance The Car Is Pretty Fast Now. I Live In Colo And We Are At 5800 Ft And The Car Ran A 13.6 @105 And It Is Stock

Either change will drastically improve performance. My plans are to do a higher performane cam, valves springs, headers w/high flow cats, throttle body polished and LS1 edit. There are performance shops, check out their sites such as More Perfromance, that do this as a package. The next step up, and a serious one for both performance and cost is heads. The Z06 heads are probably all that is needed on an LS1, but there are improvements over them. Your cam choice will be dependent upon doing heads or not, as not doing heads limits the benefit of more lift in the cam. For me, the cam and header route is all I will need to make this baby scream way better than stock and I can't justify the added costs because my application will not warrant it. Not yet anyhow.

I think if you're going to go through all the effort of installing new cylinder heads and cam, you should shoot for a goal higher than a Z06. You'll eventually get bored with the Z06 level of performance as well.

I'm still debating on heads and cam or the Procharger but the heads and cam sound more appealing to me. Go AFR and G5x3.

That's where I'm leaning too.
