I would have done the panic button thing also

I do that when my girlfriends kids get to close to the car and now they stay away from it since they never know if it will go off or not.

But it's not just kids or old folks (I have to be careful as I'm no youngster). As I've told before, I had a guy, who should have known better, plop his road map, belly, and elbows on my deck lid, while I was pumping gas, wanting directions.

The panic button was a good idea. But, I think I would have had a hard time not going out and at least asking why he was pounding on my car.

I was sitting at a red light, right behind the crosswalk lines, as an elderly lady (80 at least) was walking across. As she got in front of my car I honestly just so happened to blimp throttle (seriously, I was not thinking about her being there). It startled her a good bit I guess, and her body jerked to one side. She rapped on my nose cone with her cane and then pointed it at me as she walked off. Well at that point I had to start laughing. I felt terrible because she was probably thinking I did it on purpose and of course I did not. I did not even think about getting mad at her considering how hard I was laughing.... :o

Some old people look for an excuse to be abusive.. and then demand respect for their age..

New CCWs: $3000

CAM swap: $2500

Eradispeed Rotors: $1100

Using your Vettes panic button to scare the bejeezus out of an elderly
couple pounding on your trunk lid: PRICELESS!

Instead of hitting the panic button, I think hitting the hatch release would do more good. He would have thought that he broke it, then I'd hit the panic button. Either way you got his attention. Good work.

That would have been a great idea...and with him there with the hatch open, the alarm going off, I could come out yelling Stop Theif Theif !!! I will remember that for my next alien encounter,.

Whoah!

Does a 50yr old woman on a moped nearly crashing directly into the front of my Z (parked I might add), rate? Did I mention the back tired on the moped came off the ground due to her stopping so hard?

I feel your pain...

WOW! I cannot believe you didnt move. I surely wouldnt have tried to smack the guy, but he would have most definitely gotten some course words and such...nice job!

I have no patience for people that intentionally do things like that..

Little kid ran away from his mom only to run up and grope my car with his grubby hands. His mom apologized after running up and grabbing him, so I just let it go.

Yeah But !! Suppose he was wearing "Depends" then YOU would be on the s.h.i.t.t.y end of the foot.
I'm not as dumb as I look.. in the split second that it happend, I considered your approach, but then the "Depends" flashed into my mind.
