So i've been looking for my first corvette and I found a 98 in my price range. My question to all of you is...Do you think 75k is too many miles for a 98 for $18,500? Thanks
It's hard to tell you how good a deal is. Prices on cars will vary with each state. Check the value with kelly blue book or other publication to determine a fair price in your area of the country. Good luck
I bought my 98 last fall with 13,000 miles on it but I paid a premium for it as it was the original owner's 3rd car and was like new, and oh yeah, it was red with a 6 speed.
My 96 Taurus' engine is still kicking strong at 200,000 miles. i bet with proper maintenance the LS1 can go just as long. Mileage is jut a number. Like you said, the car is in good shape. Go for it.
I just sold my 97 coupe with 85k on it for 18k. That is not a lot of mileage like some are saying and that's about as good as price you'll find right now. If the previous owner took good care of it and it's in good shape then go ahead and jump. You won't be dissapointed! Good luck.
That price sounds good for a 98. If the car looks to be in good condition I would go for it. Have you any Idea when it was built, Month/Year? This is located on the drivers door tag on the left top corner. 1998s made from January 1998 on, are MUCH IMPROVED cars then earlier production dates. GM made many unseen changes mid year 1998 like Active Handling as an option Improved Seats with new low wear bolsters and de bugged a LOT of the electrical glitches out mid year as well as de powered airbags. One quick way to tell a "Mid Year" 1998 Vette is by the "Next Generation Airbags" label on the side windows. Good Luck.

My '91 Firebird Formula had 176,000 on it when I traded it for my '02 TR coupe 3 months ago. It (the Firebird) was in such good shape that the guy who inspected it for the dealer wound up buying it. I'd babied that car since I bought it new 13 years ago.
I purchased a 98 with 35,249 miles on it and got it for 22! I sure you can do better but man why buy soemthing with that many miles when I know for sure you can find one with less miles!
Unless you personally know the owner, I wouldn't pull the trigger!
