need help with electrical problem
I have a very intermittent problem it has happened twice in 2 months. Going down the road at about cruising normal and all my electrical power seems to go out the speed odometer and tach do the swing over as if starting and all electrical flickers. Today it was a lot worse as it flickered and made all warning lights come on in addition and a code of low voltage C1236. Well I took it directly to the gm dealership that has been awesome to me and they are going to try to diagnose it tomorrow. Any body else have anything like this ever and it is a stock 99 convertible with 15k on it the only mod is a blackwing. I am thinking it might be the alternator but my battery voltage is staying over 14 after it works itself out and then seems to run fine except when all this is going on and I noticed it drop down to 8 for one update as it seems to lose all electrical. The members of this forum ahve always had the answers I am hoping this time. Thanks in advance

The factory GM batteries are notorious for leaking acid all over the engine compartment. There have been numerous threads about it - and one fine day it happened to me.
Take a moment an shine a flashlight on the terminals before acid eats up a computer module down there. This could easily cause your problem.
