Default NEW Convertible, yellow $48K--$46.5

A customer of ours, has a Yellow 04 Convertible, yellow/black top, w. black interior. Automatic, 1,173 miles, w. B&B Exhaust, car cover, and RONAL 18-19" Full Chrome wheels, air sensors, and Pirelli Pzero Rosso tires...I'm guessing that puts the car in excess of $60K. Owned by 70+ owner, not raced, etc. PERFECT..
Would it be worth it to spend $48K for this car? He wants to sell for $46.5----------------Anyone? He has no email, I'm helping!

Is it a fully loaded 6 spd., with F45, as well? Does he have all the stock parts, including POLISHED ALUMINUM stock wheels? Is it absolutely perfect? If so, then the price is close, because they can be had for a couple grand more BRAND-NEW, which I would prefer since I know it wasn't driven badly, especially in the break-in period.

I would want the stock wheels so I could at least sell either the ones on the car or the stock ones to get the price lower, since new C5s are being sold new at such good deals.

Just thoughts.

Default No....

You can probably get a brand new '04 'vert for $48 or less.... regarless of what some people think, aftermarket parts add nothing to the resale value of a car... it ain't worth $48k.

Hey,If it is the car you want with the options you want go for it.Those wheels and tires aren't cheep. If you plan on buying wheels later then this is a great deal for you.I wouldn't get to concerned about how is was broken in.You will still get the remainder of the warranty that is left and I am sure there is alot. The car(unlike what some guy believe)is new.It took me a weekend to run up that mileage.Good luck on your choice what ever it is.

I think with those Ronal rims the car should be a great buy at 50K

Only if you really want it. I bought the same car BN with a 6 speed (add $915) for $45,000. On the other hand, there are no new C5 MY verts around that I know of. How do you come up with $60,000?

Check the C5 for sale section.

Convertable
Yellow/oak/oak 1SB F55 MXO UIS V49 msrp $55,945

This is out of the currant Maxie price inventory.
There have been fire sales on C5's the last 6 months.
I suspect your talking 10k off plus or minus to buy this
new convertable and perhaps 1k to ship or you could
pick it up and drive it home.

Gary - I have to respectfully disagree with some of the other members here. Maybe the aren't worth anything as far as resale value is concerned - but if the mods are ones that you like and owuld have done anyway, then they're worth face value - assuming of course that all the documentation (receipts, etc.) are in place, the installation was done either by a professional, or someone highly skilled.

If you have personal knowledge of the gentleman selling the car, and believe his statements about the car not being raced/driven hard, that's worth something as well.

I don't know about where you're located, but here in Arizona, a purchase of a used car from a private party means no sales tax.

Let's look at the mods....

1. B&B Exhaust - about $900
2. Car cover - about $250 (max)
3. Ronal Full Chrome plus the tires - $4,000? (you would know! )

I make this out to be about $5K (maybe a little generous).

New 04 convertibles, assuming a 1SB optioned car, sticker for about $57K, plus the $5K in mods. That takes you to $62 plus tax, etc.

So $48 isn't a bad price for a fully optioned car, with some nice wheels and tires. It's not a great price either! I saw a car listed another web site with 170 miles and it's a Collector Edition for $45,900. If you want to PM me - I'll tell you where I saw it.

QUOTE] The only problem I have is that the $57K was really $46K for most buyers. You must start from that point, NOT MSRP!Also unless it is mag ride the MSRP was closer to $55K which translates to $44K.If that's the case, the original buyer is taking almost NO hit at all. Want to buy mine for what I paid for it plus my small mod costs? I love it but will sell it for that.

I'd say it is high. Most dealers are giving very good deals for the '04s right now. The mods already on the car are nice, but you normally only get a fraction of what you spend on the mods back. It is low mileage, but you can probably find a brand new one for much less.

why would anyone want to spend 48k for it when he's only looking for $46,500?

At any rate, I agree with the above...it's not a bad deal, but not particularly great either...if he needs to sell it, he'll likely have to go lower...

Gary, is this car for your wife? I'm assuming it is since it's yellow.
