Default Any experience with Koni shocks?

I have a new 04 Z06 which I plan to take to road courses a lot (20+ per year).

Overall the suspension is great but the shocks seem a tad soft; mainly in transitions. I've used Koni's on my M3 in the past and liked them very much; especially the ability to adjust the rebound from track to track.

I realize that the Penske's are the ultimate, but after messing with double-adjustable Motons on the M3, I prefer to mess with the suspension less, so the single-adjustable route is more in my line.

However, after scouring the forums, I haven't seen much written on people's experience with the Konis. So, is anyone using them?

The only negative thing I read is that they might raise the ride height. Is that correct? Even for a car lowered using the factory bolts only? Can the rise be compensated for?

The Konis that I'm looking at have part numbers 3013-1023 and 3013-1024; just to make sure we are talking about the same thing.

Thanks,
Pete

I dont have personal experience with Koni's on the C5, but loved them in the past on my FBody cars. I have also heard they will increase the height by about 1/2" or so over stock. Its probably not a bad choice and in single adjustment not all that expensive. I have only seen the Koni's for the Z in the Ecklers catalog.

Good luck, hopefully someone with personal C5/Z06 experience with Koni's will chime in. Very curious myself. I also have an 04 Z and its surprizingly forgiving in the comfort category. I wouldnt mind a more "shocking" ride ...

I highly recommend the Koni's especially mated w. the Hotchkis suspension components. Do this, and the car will handle like your M3, especially in turns, over undulating surfaces..
Bilstein's are also good...
See them on my silver Z06 at
