Dave...
...owning a corvette is not about anything but the vette...

Who cares who mistreats you...
...who cares your having a nightmare...
...who cares you want to jump ship...
...who cares how you feel...
...who cares how much you over/under spend for service
...who cares if anyone waves
...who cares if you read this...
...who cares about a column lock issue
...who cares if you like my vette

Well I guess I do...but man dont blame your vette or mine...

...who cares if I or StuzVette have been mistreated...

I love all of it... Ill endure all of it...
because I care and...
...cause Im driving a Corvette.

If you dont want to drive it then NSX yourself to death ...
...the same mistreatment, in one form or another, is out there under any brand name...

peace

I have several friends who like my car but won't own one because of GM's dealer reputation. GM needs to have better control of their dealer network but as long as GM sells every 'Vette this won't happen. The Corvette is a lowly Chevy worked on by Chevy techs. The Marque needs to be moved to Cadillac.

Choose your brand:

I have a whole case of these - one on my desk at all times, just in case.

Give him one of these for me, Bill.

As you know, Bill, I am trying to avoid any and all trips to CA. But, please, lay one on Dave for me.

HOLY POST OVERLOAD BATMAN! You guys are amazing! I leave for one day and I come back to all this! My eyes were buggin' out! I was hitting CircusVargas1's car with a polisher all day (that paint was a mess), justrying to keep myself busy so I didn't go to the stealership and go a shooting spree. Although, I know several hundred people would've thanked me for the favor!

First off, I wanna thank everyone for their support. The reason I even posted my thoughts beofre I did anything is, you guys are like my Jimini Crickets. I've been battling the angels / devils on my shoulders (actually their both devils, one's just kinder than the other.) trying to decide. I know a different dealership may solev the problem, but I gave my money to GM. Everything on each stealerships paperwork says GM. Whyt should I be inconvenienced because they can't/won't hire competent workers.

I know the decisions mine, it's my money, it's just a car, etc., but it's not JUST the car ... it's all the things personally represented to me by having the car of my dreams. Without spilling my whole life story, I had a rough childhood. When I finally brought the car home, I was so proud of myself for being able to achieve goals in my life, I was so thankful for being blessed. (I'm not a religious man, but very spiritual ... no I don't chant ... here). I'm a very strong believer in that "things happen for a reason." Anyway, one of the best things is ... I get to hang here with all of you ... because of the car.

Just so you know, "They" had my car for 3 more days. I picked it up yesterday evening and the dis-service troll spun some yarn about how much work they put in my car .... how great it's running ... how there are no problems (warning lights are gone) ... when I pick it up, the volts are still bouncing ... I'm like .... I bring it home, turn it off ... start it back up ... LIGHTS ARE BACK ON! OMG! Will they ever do anything right?

Thanks to all the support, constructive, hilarious replies, I'm gonna take my car to Rydell ... It's about 45 minutes from my house. In the fututre, I may just get the NSX, but I'm not gonna tell you guys, because some members phoned me and threatened me saying, "My kind wasn't allowed here if did that." LMAO! But for now, I'll try a new stealership and try and get the problem fixed.

BTW .... Bill, You and your wife are welcome to come by anytime (leave the cans of whoop a$$ with Ed), the winters here are great! Ed ... LMAO! Thanks for helping the situation. TO everyone else, I heartfelt THANK YOU. You are all great people ... except a couple (but I won't mention any names ... Marcus.)

***EDIT *** I almost forget ... I sent GM a nasty-gram two nights ago ... THEY ACTUALLY CALLED ME BACK. I got the message, so I will be speaking to someone soon. I'm also scheduling an appt. with the Zone Office Rep (Thanks to a good suggestion). I hate being a squeaky wheel but, I am soooo good at it ... and if it's for the greater good, it's fun for me! I'll keep you posted!

Dave: Do us a favor a let the zone rep see a copy of this post. Maybe they will see that we need better customer service from the "stealerships." Corvette Forum should be required reading by all the top brass at GM.

Dave-I will be very saddened to see you leave the Vette. But if you must you must go you must go and oh by the way all that stereo and custom chrome pieces got to go somewhere. I will be obliged to hold on to those things on my car till you come to your senses. I will do you this favor since you completely detailed my car and for all of your help. That's what friends are for (as sung by Dionne Warwick) Oh yea when you get that NSX I will cruise with you and ride in it with you but I will not ever race you in it (don’t want to hurt your feelings). Oh well good luck with your decision.

Okay Vulture Boy ... geez... the body's still warm. Well since you know where I live, I guess leaving the Forum won't help in getting rid of you. As for "holding" onto my stereo ... LMAO ... you can leave me a $7K deposit. "Yall gon' make me loose my mind" as sung by DMX. No Marc ... I don't expect you would ever race me in the NSX ... I would need to go up against a car with a working third gear, airdam, and less than 800 lbs of road tar and sand under the hood! I wouldn't want you to think you were seeing tail lights becuase your car wasn't running at it's best! BTW, I'm tellling Wayne! PAGING:THE TOURIST! Look at Marc's car! I'm gonna try and stick with my car, just as long as I don't have to deal with idiots.

1st 3rd gear is fine thank you very much, 2nd the airdam as is supplies a more centrifugal force that makes my car hug the road better due to it hanging at a slight angle. 3rd you already cleaned my car of 790# of dirt and grime.

I know what you mean about the oil change and filter i had mine done yesterday and it was $83.00 because they use sinthetic oil which is not cheap.

I understand your frustration. Last winter I had mine in for excessive oil usage and they kept tell me it was to use that much oil. They were a pain until I got medevil on them and stated that, NO car should use a quart of oil every 400 miles! They finally took the car and had it for three weeks. they would not answer my calls or give me any info. they finally gave me the car back with all new rings. They still found it in their hearts to charge me the 80.00 for the oil change though. As it was stated before, it is just a car and you need to get what makes you happy! Good Luck.
