Default First Post!

Thanks to these forums, I bought my first Vette three months ago from Les Stanford Chevrolet (highly recommend!). I am now the proud owner of a 2004 Coupe. There seems to be a real community participating here that I am happy to now be a part of.

Now if I can just stay away from all those mods...

I live in Columbia, MD. Anybody else in the Maryland/DC area? Advice on best area dealers for Vettes would be very much appreciated.

Welcome to the forum.
Hopefully that you read the guideline for the forum?
In very, very, very small print it says anyone making their first post after Sept 1, 2004 will and must buy beer for all C5 owners at the cruise-in next May

Gotta love that Silver!!! Congrats on the new car and welcome...officially, from a fellow Columbia, MD member. I'll keep an eye out for 'ya. If you ever see a '99 Sebring Silver Coupe with silver Mallet wheels or a stock '02 Pewter/Black Top Conv. running around Columbia, it's either me or the Mrs.

A couple of dealers I've been using with much success:
- Sport Chevrolet off RT 29 in the AutoPark (Briggs Chaney Rd.). Frank is the Corvette Tech. there - very knowledgeable and careful.
- Fox Chevrolet on Security Boulevard in Woodlawn for oil changes (see Matt the Service Manager)
- Criswell Chevrolet in Gaithersburg (a bit of a drive but they are good).

Most importantly, don't forget to

Congrats on the purchase. It is a real beauty! Welcome to the Forum. This is a great group of folks and I have learned tons of useful stuff from them and have always gotten help when needed. It's especially useful when the dealers techs don't know what they should, as these guys have provided the right information on two warranty matters, so I was able to get the required work done after enlightening the service advisor. Mod fever is contagious. I know, I caught it here, and it is a progressive disease. What I learned here has resulted in eliminating the CAGS (MN6), Blackwing air intake, GHL Bullet exhaust w/Magnaflow X-Pipe, and Column Lock Bypass. The car is transformed in throttle response, better performance, and exotic car sound. I won't get into my short and long planned mod lists, because my 12 step mod sponsor wants me to take it a day at a time...

Welcome to the Forum Mich...
As Iceburgh mentioned, come on down! to OC that is. Many of us will see you there (good luck getting hotel reservations though - check the Freestate Corvette Club webpage for hotel reservation recommendations).
