I drive a Maxima now with around 65K and it just started rattling a little bit and I really dislike it. But I can put up with it on a 5-years old $25K car and wouldn't like it on a 2-years old $40K car...
I guess I need to go test drive a used vette too...
I think it comes with the territory(stiff suspension)but do not compare any year vet to a BMW they are not even close to the same car.The newer C-5 has alot less rattles because they are a built on a hydroform aluminum frame it is strong and rides alot better-you have got to test drive one-

Is it '04 C5? I'm actually thinking about buying a new '04 or a slightly used (~10K miles) '03
I have owned 19 Corvettes in my Lifetime C4s and C5s. I have NEVER had a rattle in a C5. C4, Yes the frame is a bit wiggly and this is the most common cause for rattles. The Vert C4s are most suspect.

Of all the cars I've driven, my C5 is by far the quietest and most rattle-free. Aside from an intermittent annoying buzzing sound somewhere in the rear speaker area, it's as tight and reasonably quiet as anything out there.
I remember being very impressed with the one I test drove a month before getting mine...

My first C5-1999- had a chronic rattle in the driver's door. I had it fixed while under warrenty, as I remember it was something to do with the window mechanism (I believe there is a thread on this in this forum). A problem with a nut holding the window mechanism in place. It reappeared several times, but off and on (as usual with most rattles). I've had a 2003 for 6 months and the only rattle comes from my golf clubs in the trunk. I just remembered another rattle on the 1999. if it is a 'vert like mine are; if the handles are not closed properly when the top is down you can get a rattle from the handle hitting the waterfall cover when it is down. The first and only time this happened to me I thought I was losing part of the car.
Mine squeeks a little in the dash area when putting twisting loads (like going up driveways sideways), but no rattles to speak of... '99 with 52000 miles on it.
My 2000 has no rattles and feels brand new. Wasn't this a problem with pre 2000 C5's. Thought I read it somewhere.
My '00 vert had plenty of rattles and it had about 48k miles on it. My '04 doesn't have any yet but it's only got 4400 miles on it. It doesn't really matter to me because I can't hear them over my GHLs and stereo anyway.
My '02 convertible with 30K miles rattles some. It didn't when it was brand new.
I also have an '04 BMW 330Ci and I can tell you that it's an entirely different machine than my Vette. Ride quality in the BMW is significantly better than the Vette (it's even significantly better than my '02 Caddy). But the BMW is just nowhere near as fun or as fast as the Vette.
Also, the Vette is a great DIY car if you ever want to add exhaust, headers, or whatever. I would never touch the BMW, the engineering on it is so perfect that anything I would do would only mess it up.
Like I said, two different beasts. One for fun and one for luxury.

I have a 03 and i have a rattle if i go over a rough road it seems to come from the roof in front somewhere but if you are only one person in the car driving it is tough to find the darn rattle.Maybe the roof needs somekind of an adjustment.
