[Z06] new z vs. an suv...
that sure is one damn fast suv in a straight line! maybe there was more under that hood than met the eye? although, in a 45-50 mph left hand sweeper, i took it up to [certain gear limitations] and positively roasted him, 15-20 car lengths easily.
what could be under that hood? aren't they v8's? there was another emblem on there besides factory stuff, but couldn't recognize it. impressive nonetheless.
i instantly thought of callilng a&a for a supercharger kit this weekend... i need to convincingly pull away from a friggin suv!
i guess there's always something faster...or real close!
"POWER IS NOTHING WITHOUT CONTROL"
if the turn was a little sharper he'd be in the bushes, plus he was in an automatic I'll bet. And as we all have learned correct gear seletion is key on the highway. I practice 3rd thru 5th alot it seems to be a little harder for me than just taking off, I just have to spend a little more time with the Hurst.
Don't sweat it, you still wipped his butt

I agree 100% -
Oh - and IBTL!

that was one super fast suv, that's for sure. probably cost at least twice what the z was, no doubt. i'll take z plus the xtra change, thank you.

By the way, I have my car for 15 months & have not had a "real" race outside of the track yet! I don't look for it, but when it finds me I'm ready. It would be over in 2nd gear I'd expect anyway.

Prolly was an AMG ML55. Blown 5.5l V8 making 469 hp.
i took offense, of course....and proceeded to jump all over that and show him my tail lights! no way he could hold it on the on-ramp as i blew by, a 1/4 mile long right-then-left sweeper with a posted limit of 45 or so.

So, if you want to really traumatize the rice-burners wih the fart-can mufflers, that Mercedes SUV you saw, loaded with six to eight adults, could be exactly what the shrinks would prescribe.
More Money = More Cubic Inches = More HP and Torque = More performance = more humiliation for those performance car owners suffering the sin of "Pride".
The bigger they are, the harder they fall. This is most easily seen when the RBFCM (Rice-Burner with Fart Can Muffler) trash talks the suv you saw. Thien, in a display of raw power, makes a big spray only to find that the big cubes took big bites out of the contest.
Worst of all, when it happens, the whole community becomes like a hostile mob, taunting the poor loser with names and lables like "Loser" and many that are much worse. Yep, cars like the one you ran with, they are the things that traumatize people...
Imagine, you give your best nos shot to you car, look up, and see this very clunky suv loaded with seven adults and gear, You freeze, becomming dear in the headlights, paralyzed by the thought that this big clunker ran down your pride and joy, making you look like a total loser.
AVOID THIS FATE...
Respect all vehicles on the road. Chances are the ego you save will be yours.
BEWARE the GRAND Prix. They always call the ball. Unfortunately, they don't have a chance. They look stupid. Stupid people band to gether to form a riotl
If you are on the lot when the riot starts, your car is toat... not a good idea.
your firend
