I have a 2:73 in my '02 and a 3:15 in my '04 and Im see a big diff in the two. How much will it cost to change a 2;73 to a 3:42 and do you have to change anything else???

Gears can run $900 - $1200+ then the install, too. You can add a new torque converter at the same time, too.
You have you have your car tuned after that $400+.
Ain't cheap.

The good news is the 3:42 is a stock GM size and you can buy a brand new set-up with 3:42 gears from GM Parts Direct for $918.
The bad news is install labor is $500 - $800 and then you will need an $400 LS1 edit or equivalent...
