Took a class today with 5 other forum members. What a blast!!!
I've autocrossed before, but in the class, we got to run same course (4 different configurations) over and over again, sometimes with instructor in the car, and sometimes with instructor doing the driving (and us as passengers) to set the benchmark.
I had a couple of good wipeouts. Unfortunately the last one took out the timing beam
Overall, well worth the money. Class was put on through SCCA by Craig/Brian Garfield. A class act.
i also took the autox class with 99c5vert.my first time doing anything like this.i had no idea my 04z06 could do such things.i also had no idea my body could not.advice to first timers-take some dramamine or seasick bands with you.brian and craig were great. i will be doing this again !!! thanks to 99c5vert for a great day
I have seen some of these classes before,I think the closest one to ILL. is in florida-somebody PM me if I am wrong, congrats on the class,I am truly jelous
Too out the timing beam! How on earth did you do that! Good thing it was the last one!
I hope you all enjoyed it, it looked like everyone was having fun from what I could see.
You missed all the action... between me and Steve Hotchkiss, we must've had 6 spinouts. On the one where I hit the timing LED, I was making a mad dash coming out of the last corner and got into the throttle too much.
We didn't have traction control on all day - a great way to learn how the car behaves in a safe environment.

You're welcome! It was a great day. It might have been heat and dehydration too. I'm pretty beat right now after running all those cones down
Great picture, nice looking C4 in front Had a great time there, it was a really fun day of driving and was nice to meet some other forum members. Instructor was really good too, he helped me try to unlearn alot of my bad habits. Only spun out twice in my car that I remember. Spun 3 times in the C5 I borrowed, all in the same lap, little more power than I'm used to. Will have to get one of those. Thanks Brian for the ride, and thanks Madza for the invite.
