Last week I took my 04 C5 (just purchased in June) into the dealer for the lower control arm nut recall. On the way back home, a bizarre thing happened.
I'm in the middle lane of a 3 lane highway going about 65 with nobody around, except for some piece of crap Corolla in the right lane behind me. The guy decides to pull even with my car and starts staring at me in my car giving me some weird smile. I couldn't tell if he liked the car or if he was just wacko.
Well the answer soon became apparent. Out of nowhere, with his car even with mine, he decides to push into the middle lane, all the while smiling at me as he is forcing me into the high speed lane and nearly off the road.
What a lunatic! Jealous, stupid, or both?!? Luckily, there were no other cars on the road and I didn't have too much trouble avoiding a wreck.
Have any of you had similar things happen? Corvettes seem to attract the good and bad in people.
Sorry to hear of your ordeal, haven't had a similar incident since driving the Vette, but I do know what it's like. As a retired LEO, I had a similar experience when active, and nailed the whack job perp real good. After removing him at gun point, his response was, "I would never have done it if I knew you were a cop." Duh! These types are scary. He tried to kill me while riding my motorcycle, just for kicks. His sorry butt went away in handcuffs and his truck was towed. Slapped him with felony MV charges and Criminal charges. Some people really need reality checks via Glock, Colt, etc.

If you had thought about it, you should have taken down his license number and reported him. Sounds like a nut case to me. Glad you were observant and did not get hit.

I wish people like you were always around when these idiots pull crap like this!!!
Yeah I wished I would have thought about getting his tag info. I guess I was in a little bit of shock at what had happened.
As soon as he was done pushing me over he took off at about 85 mph. I caught up to him later in traffic and thought about chasing him down but figured it wasn't worth it. You never know how crazy these people really are!

I keep one in the car at ALL times ... take your pick ... I had some JAckhole trying to see if his new Nissan Truck would fit in my trunk just this evening as well .... He didn't give me a weird smile though ... just the bird. Oh well, would've been a bad day for him.
I see so much crap on the road, I often wish I were an off-duty cop so that I could nail the bastards. Being a junior high teacher just isn't the same.

Doesn't get pulled unless I'm in fear for my life or that of my GF (if she's with me). If I ever have to pull it, it will be emptied. Otherwise I'm not going to pull it at all. Social finger displays, discussions involving parental lineage, swerving, etc do not constitute an immediate threat to life. If, however, the some little turd does decide make contact by ramming, the last thing he will probably see will be muzzle blast. Right-to-Carry laws carry with them a lot of responsibility along with the ability to defend yourself and family.
Like others have said, I too am glad for Michach that he was not injured or driven into a guard rail.
