Default Typical Newbie Question

Hey Guys,

I've got the typical newbie question for ya - I'm looking to buy a C5 very soon - it is going to be going to LPE for a stage I TT most likely in the future, so I'm thinking coupe or Z06. I'm leaning toward coupe because it is cheaper, and less likely to have been beat upon - also, the TT upgrade will take care of the Z06 being faster than my coupe.

So: What things should I look out for when looking at C5s? I know everything quirky about C4s, but not about C5s? Any typical problem areas to be aware of when looking at a car? I'm checking out a blue coupe 2000 with about 18K miles - they say it is 'electronic blue' - I think they mean electron blue, and I think it didn't come out till 2002, so what color am I really looking at?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

If I was you I'd keep my eye on the C5s for sale section. It would be tremendously cheaper to buy one already done.

I take offense to the above statement. I own a 2004 Coupe....yes TR.....and it gets as much abuse as any Z06 I have seen on the road. The car came with a warranty didnt it!!!! Drive it like its stolen or til you get caught.

Good luck on your purchase and the Electron Blue happens to be a very hot color. Alex has it on his 2002 and its one outrageous color. But then again he does belong to the religion of ZAINO and takes great care of his car!!!!!
