I just bought a new Vette last night and drove it home from Phoenix. I took the long way so I already have 550 easy miles on it. A couple of mid throttle accelarations but no punching it. I also never held a speed for longer than a few miles.
My question is when can I open this thing up and feel the power without any long term damage to the engine???
They recommend 500 mile break-in, but not for the engine...for the drivetrain. The first 500 miles you vary the RPM's & occasional stops to let it cool down. Since you have your 500 in, hit it!!! And Smile!!!

The reason I asked is because my 01 came with a video and it recommended a 500 mile break in period. I have read of guys not opening their car up with even 2000 miles.
