Well ladies and gentleman, I'm a proud owner of a 2004 MY vert. It feels great to be back in the fraternity. Previously I have owned a 96,01,and 02 vettes. This is by far the best one yet. Equipped with all the goodies including man tranny. I got one hell of a deal considering I also leased a new avalanche(Bright red) You could say my garage is very colorful now. This forum is an invaluable tool for all corvette enthusiasts. Thanks again
Thanks to a forum member last week, I was informed of the voucher that GM allocates to dealers. I bought a new MY vert for $ 700 below GMS. I played hard ball with the dealer and ended up walking out the first time. Oh by the way, the rebates stayed in my pocket. 30 Benjamins to be exact. In addition, I was in the market for a new truck at the same time, this unequivocally helped my leverage. The dealer wrote the car for $1300 above GMS and gave me 3 /500 dollar coupons. These coupons can not be given to GM employees or family members.(I got this info after the sale) and only 3 coupons can be given to one customer. Each dealer gets a certain number of vouchers every month. It is based on sales volume. My dealership is a large volume dealer in the metro detroit area. They had 38 coupons for the month of September and burned 3 on me. They still made money.... but had to burn some coupons. I also utilized my $500 UAW voucher. I hope this was informative.....Denny
