This Mallet 435 was at a shine and show I was in today and this exhaust is actually the pipes from a Ducatti motorcyle!! It sounded great. Of course it had the Mallet motor and headers in front of it but what an idea! He was just back from the Silver State Classic in Vegas which explains the decals.
Is Silver State Classic where they run flat out for a couple of miles? If so how fast did he go? Or am I thinking of something else
They have different speed classes depending on driver skill, safety equipment, etc. I'm sure that wing is probably functional (and needed) if he is running in the higher speed classes. And quite a bit further than a couple of miles.... The "Classic" course is 90 miles.
(And if you get caught running at a higher speed than your class maximum, you get a ticket for exceeding the posted speed limit by however fast you were travelling.)
Also notice the rear wheel arch flares. The rear is tubbed as well. I dont remember what widthe tires but they were steam rollers. Also has full cage...but the Ducatti exhaust in carbon fiber is what struck me as unique. Also the wing is in carbon fiber.
