I still haven't decided between Warranty Direct and 1Source. I like the prices and extent of the coverage with 1Source but need to know that they are reliable and good to work with.
If you have 1Source or have any good or bad experiences with them please tell me about it.
Just went with Warranty Direct, their prices, for the 4/100K, Zero Deductible, were actually less than 1 Source; at least for my vehicle, ('03).
The plan I purchased also had the emissions' components coverage, and the prices broke down to: Warranty Direct
Base Plan: $2140.00
Emission Coverage: $150.00
Discount (50% off if paid in full): -$75.00 Total: $2215.00
Another reason I went with Warranty Direct:
Towing is for all problems. 1 Source paid for towing only for a warranty covered item.
Car rental for repairs was 8 days/$30.00 per day; 1 Source 5 Days/$30.00 per day.
Travel interruption 3 days/$75.00 per day; 3 days/$50.00 per day.
Another reason, no link on 1 Source to the BBB on line or privacy. Yes, they explain this, and say that Web Assured is better; don't agree with this statement personally. Warranty Direct has links to both; Web Assured and the BBB.
However, from what I have heard, 1 Source is reliable, and well insured. My suggestion, check with your state insurance commissioner (I did) and see which has the better record in your state (if any record at all). Also, check with who ever does work on your car. I checked with my dealer, and they have done business with Warranty Direct, and had no problems. They have never done business with 1 Source; however, they did not rule out working with them. They did state that WD paid immediately upon completion of the work via CC and they appreciate that.
Both companies are excellent, you can read this if you want , its good information before making an extended warranty purchase,,
I have Warranty direct, and could give you a lot of info if you like. http://www.carbuyingtips.com/warranty.htm
I went with 1source and haven't really had to use them but thought I might with one problem and called them up and it seems like it is going to be very easy to deal with. The rep said just call from the dealership and they will give authorization over the phone and I just pay the deductible and they will give a credit card number to dealer for the rest. Seems easy enough. But like I said the problem ended up being very simple and the dealership didn't even charge me close to the 100 dollar deductible.

I got a quote from WD and they are only willing to give me 37/37,000 on my 99 vette with 30,600 miles on it. I would really like to get a longer term than that but they are not willing to do go more than 37 months.
I have 1Source on my '99 coupe that I purchased in April, 2003. Used it the first time in June 04 for a AC problem. Total repair cost was about $1,000. They paid the claim in full (less the $100 deductible) with no hassle to the dealer or me. My only reservation is that the 1Source contract has a provision that excludes repairs for any item where a TSB has been issued. Check this out before you decide.
I have 1 source, had a problem about a year ago $900. bill at the dealer they paid in full less my deductible. Even the GM dealer said they were easy to work with, good luck, Jim.
