I've just had my 2000 MN6 comprehensively effed up by the dealer, for instance: wrong oil, tickover (idle speed) set at 850rpm, CD player well in the boot saturated when it was returned, wrong tyre pressures set, 8 codes left on the display and a dead battery. And a bill for U$700. Oh, and the column locked up as soon as I got it home. Thankfully I was able to fix that and install the CLB I had postponed fitting until after the stealership "service".
Amongst the catalogue of disasters last week was their failure to replace the driver's side remote locking actuator.
As I do not want these idiots anywhere near my car ever again I have persuaded them to send the replacement actuator to me in the mail.
Although I shall be ordering them next week, I do not yet have the GM workshop manuals and so I wondered if anyone could tell me how to remove and refit the door panel (without breaking anything!)?
in a very recent thread, someone posted a web link that provided all the service manuals. It was VERY comprehensive. I have lost the site, but I thought it was provided through http://www.mygmlink.com
Your locking actuator is probably not the problem.. They rarely go bad...
a very common problem is the door controle module.. this effect the locking of your car.. you have one in each door... The module is around 140 dollars.. The link to vette essential will get you to the problem..

The VetteEssentials directions are great. Be careful pulling the door off. I am a little impatient and managed to break a couple of the make connectors and didnt have any extras. Now i have to pull the door back off and rplace the broken ones. I dont know how common this is, but you might consider picking up a few extras before you pull the door off. I got them at the dealer for .72.
I'm going to have to go back to see those nice people to get a new battery sometime this week, an AC Delco AGM one because the Optima Red Top is over $300 here!
