Default Need help with head light pop up dirve

When I rasie or lower my hadlight on an 01 I get a very loud ratched sound on the right side. Sound like the gears are still running after the head light is in postion. Is there a limit switch for the drive or do I need to repalce the pop up motor? Is the pop up drive motros easy to replace? Thanks or the help.

Sounds like you've ground the teeth off of the gear inside the motor housing. Same thing just happened to me on my 2000 vert. Mine would grind horridly when lowered.

Bought a new gear (went with the bronze to replace the nylon). OOH YEAH did the install for me and it works great now.
