I saw a vette at a local car show this weekend that had beautiful chrome accessories under his hood, but what i really liked the fuse box-oil cap-washer fluid etc all in chrome had all the wording on them. Do you know were to get these items at???
Many of the supporting forum Vendors carry Engine dress up stuff. You can also find many of them in the various Corvette Magazines like Corvette Quarterly, etc.
Yes i know and i have some chrome under my own hood now, but the wording on his chrome was outstanding and really set the chrome off.
Cool. I hadn't really looked into these much since its really more trouble than worth to maintain on a daily driver as my Z is. Good luck, I am sure someone on the forum has them or knows who makes them/sells them.
Design Specialities used to sell what your describing with the engraving on their pieces.
They were based in Bowling Green but have recently gone out of business.
Here's a link to a site with some excellent chrome acc's.
If you want polished S/S, check out www.americancarcraft.com. They have some really nice stuff as well!! I installed their rear exhaust filler panel and it looks great (I still need to take some pictures).
Be very careful of junk. There are many out there that sell poor quality chrome plating on thin metal. Design Specialities made the best, but are gone for many reasons. They did the etching of the lettering on the caps. Most of the caps cost $ 85.00 each with the etching you are referring to.
Try a vendor, by buying the least expensive item, see what it looks like when it arrives and then decide to keep and order more, or return and try with another vendor.
It ain't easy getting quality stuff.
There is also a rumor that www.performancedesignspecialties.com
is trying to take over for Design Specialitites. Their website is under construction
