I was almost home. Less then a mile from my house. I come over the crest of a hill and crap, there's a skunk in the road. Splattered it. I had to leave the vette parked outside all night becuase it smelled so bad. Since it was late at night, dark, I couldn't really wash it so I have to wait until after work today. I really hope that it doesn't end up smelling inside the car. Man those skunks sure smell!

Small animals have been known to be a nuisance around where I'm at as well. Never had to deal w/ clippin' a skunk yet, but I've smacked more than my fair share of groundhogs and possums. Luckily, it wasnt with the Vette.
ewwww that happened to me. I ran over an already run over skunk. I went to those self car washes with my jack and stands and had to wash the under side of the car for about an hour. Lot of the flesh/hairs got caught on the exhaust and really started stinking. It was huge mess, but the high pressure water was able to get it all cleaned up.
People came walking by thinking I was for washing the under side of the car

I hear ya man. I think that's the same boat that I'm in right now. When I parked the car, I could already smell the meat "cooking" on the exhaust. Believe it or not, the skunk spray was so bad that when I brought my dogs in, I could smell it in the house!
I do KNOW that Massengill Douche takes the skunk smell out of dogs! Perhaps a Exhaust Douche is in order ???
That is TOO funny! I can imagine walking into Wally World and buying them out of douche and telling the cashier that it's to wash my car with!
It's supposed to rain heavy tonight 1-3 inches and I'm hoping that driving it in the rain, can't insult the car much more at this point, will help wash in the areas underneath that I can't get to!
At CI-5, I remember seeing nitro-c5 spraying some air freshner around his front left wheel and inside the engine bay. He hit some kind of roadkill on his trip to or around BG.
Last week, there was a freshly dead polecat in the highway on the way to work. I was cruising along with the top off and windows down. That thing stunk up the whole area for at least a quarter mile. I couldn't imagine hitting one and taking that smell with me.
From: "It's 106 miles to Chicago, we've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark, and

That REALLY stinks!
I'm not laughing at your problem.....but that smell will eventually work it's way into the car. Tomato juice works good on dogs, too. I've also used vanilla extract on a paper towel to absorb the odor.
Also - Griot's Garage has a couple of products that might get the smell out....

Wasn't he offering a reward to anyone that could find where it was coming from?
