Here's the scenario. This has happened 3 times to me now in my 02 Z06.
I go to my garage, open the driver's side door, and the alarm goes off. The door was unlocked, so the alarm should not have been armed.
Also, when this happens, pressing the unlock button or panic on the FOB does nothing. I have to put the key in the ignition and turn it in order to shut off the alarm.
Under normal circumstances, I just need to press the unlock button.
I have also had the alarm go off by pressing the trunk button on the FOB... the trunk did indeed open, while setting off the alarm at the same time, so I'm certain it wasn't me hitting the panic button accidentally.
It seems to me that something is tripping the "panic" mode for the alarm. Anybody seen this happen before?
I had mine go off with the car in closed garage Sat. night. My son grabbed the key fob and shut it off. I don't have a clue what caused it. Another mystery. hawki
