I have a 2000 coupe with the standard 5-spoke wheels (not wagon wheels and not chromed). The previous owner must have driven too close to a curb or similar item as the 2 right side wheels have small circular damage close to where the wheels meet the tires. I can feel indentations where the damage is, and it appears the coating or exterior metal on the wheels has been worn off.
Any idea how to fix this? Is there a filler or repair kit for this? I don't think buffing the finish will work.
Also, if I should have posted this in the "wheels and tires" section, please advise. Thanks.
Here in the Dallas area there are 2 or 3 companies that restore wheels with curb rash, bent, etc. They can make them like new. Do a search and/or check your yellow pages. They also advertise in Autoweek (the National Chains at least).

I feel your pain, happen to my high polished wheels on my yellow C5--but then the wheels pitted so chevy replaced them even the damaged ones !
I'm interested too. I live in the Chicago area and I can’t find a place to fix minor scrapes on the outer edge of my wheel. I found companies on the Internet that do this type of thing without even having to take the wheel off the car. Unfortunately there are no locations in my area. The best I can find are companies that rechrome the entire wheel at $250+ per wheel. I could buy a new one for substantially less than that.

In the Corvette related magazines there are several companies that advertise they fix damaged rims. You can also check with a local large tire store chain and see if they use anyone. Some of the companies get good reviews, some don't. Good luck with the repair.
