Default Yet another battery query

OK, following on from my 'what battery is this' thread, I have now found a US supplier who is prepared to ship a battery Europe for me.

The question now is which red top?

I've searched the forum and found that the recommended Optima is a 75/35, but I can't find that one for sale.

Would a '800U 34/78 SAE Auto & GM Side ' be suitable?

Or should it be a 'D750U 34/78 SAE Auto & GM Side'

Once again any help gratefully received.

I've seen both the 75/35 and the 34/78 in a few stores recently. A few of our vendors sell them so you should call or email to ask about availability. The older 34/78 is a bit more powerful. I'd go for the 800 CA version.

Here's my 75/35 . . .

. . . and a 34/78

I have the 34/78 in mine and it has been just fine for almost three years.

Thank you chaps.

I shall order a 34/78 forthwith.

My old AC Delco is on trickle charge (yet again) as I write - the new Optima cannot come soon enough.

Many thanks everyone.

I take it you decided not to try an odyssey battery. Thought that would be easiest to have shipped for you in addition to a great battery.

Just to avoid confusion for anyone interested, the proper one to get is the pc1200LMJT, i.e., the one with + on the left. The 1200MJT has the + on the right. None are made with side posts that I am aware of.

good luck

Thanks Verysoon - I decided against the Odyssey because my battery terminals are side post - gone for the next best thing, the red top.

Once again thanks to all for your help and knowledge.
