I have been looking around for a 99 or 00 Hard Top car which would be my first C5. I found a red 99 FRC with 102,000 miles for about $19K. I know the miles are high for the year and the price is iffy but what, if anything is a typical problem associated with a high milage C5? I currently own a 99 Camaro SS and fairly familiar with the LS1 durability. I'm just looking for a heads up on what to look for when I go to check out this car, any help would be greatly appreiciated.

i'm also new to the forum, but i am in the car buisness. i bought my 99 6spd coupe last month (Aug. 04) it is hard loaded... HUD, Bose, F45 ride control... ect. and 41800 mileage. very very clean car. i paid 20000.00 for it. look around some, then look around some more 19k for a 100k mile Vette sounds to a bit high on the price to me. i live in Austin TX, and ended up buying mine in a smaller town close by, about an hour away. all the nice Vettes in Austin were higher priced. anyway that's my .02

I would agree. There is not anything wrong with a higher milage
C5 they seem to hold up well but C5's are bargins right now.
I am sure you can find one with fewer miles in that price range. As
always how someone has taken care of it is probably as important
as the number of miles on it.
For 19k you should be able to get a car with a lot less miles on it. As others have said , nothing "wrong" with a higher mile vette, but you can get more bang for your 19k than that.
I would not pay 19k for anything with more than 50 or 60kk on the clock.
