Default Interior Lights Stayed on??

Had to drive last nite using map quest to find the location. I put the interior lights on so my wife could read the address when we were getting close. We arrived and parked the car and went inside. After about 15 minutes she went back out to the car and returned asking "why are the interior lights on?". I asked if she had used the FOB and maybe they hadn't gone off yet..After about 5 minutes I went out side and the interior lights were still on...hmmmmm? I checked the dash **** (dimmer) and it was in the off position (turned CCW). I got out and closed the door and the lights still stayed on. I cycled the head light switch (turned it on and off) and then and only then could I get the lights to say off..
Tis a malfunction/computer error or.....? thanks for you help.

Also make sure that your trunk or rear hatch is totally closed and not up just a bit on one corner. This will also keep the light on.

Default Lights

Was it raining? Mine did this twice when something in the door switches got wet. Dried it with the leaf blower and all is well, at least for now.

Thanks for the reply's. No it was clear and dry out side. About 3 weeks ago my battery was dead (the car was bought new in April this year) and I was mystified as to why. Took it to the dealer and they checked out the whole system and gave it the OK. It might have been the lights and I didn't notice it?? I'll keep an eye on things and see what happens..

I've seen a couple posts lately about a problem like this. Seems like a burp in the computer like Evil said. Strange

This sounds dumb, but after turning the map lights on that are under the rear-view mirror, you did turn them back off, right?

My thoughts too.

One visual cue is that if the little white line is showing on the left side of the rocker switch(s), that means they are manually turned on. HTH

I checked to see if the dash dimmer **** was turned to the left, the off position and it was. To my knowledge I did turn them off, or at least I thought i did? I don't know of any way that the dimmer **** could be turned to the left and the map lights still on?.. plus... the instrument lights were on as well. So something else must be going on?
