Default Stupid CLB Question

Does the Thunder Road CLB remain plugger into the lighter forever? If so, doesn't it look crappy having this wire running out of your dash and going under the wheel?

Also, what's the difference between the CLB and a harness? Looks like there's two different solutions?

I tried to get the answers by searching the CLB threads but there's just too many posts to plow thru.

Thanks>

The lighter adapter is just to release the lock, once that is done you don't need it again. Everything looks the same once yuo reassemble.

Some people had had issues with the CLB on 97-99 model years. The harness performs the same function as the CLB, and should probably be the solution of choice for 97-99 cars, although the CLB has worked on some 97-99 cars though

Take out the adapter immediately after you hear the lock release.
This is from the instructions:
Take the cigarette lighter end of the unlocker assembly, and plug it into your cigarette lighter for 1 second. Just push it in, then remove it. You should have heard the steering column unlocking at that moment.
