bad dealership experience
I took in my 2000 coupe MN6 for the column lock recall this morning. It took them a total of 30 minutes to a PCM flash. I didn't want to bring it in though. I hate the dealership touching my vette, much less work on it. This morning's experience validates my concern/aprehension.
I thought long and hard about avoiding the recall and just install the CLB. After all, the PCM flash only provides one update; fuel cutoff in case of column lock (or so the tech told me). My thought is if I install the bypass, the column will NEVER get locked, so the recall is worthless. In any event...
Here's the bad part, when they were finished, they parked the vette until it scraped the front end againts the parking curb. Not by a little, but by a lot!
The driver had to hear it as it scraped up the curb.
I now know why people commit murder, I was so furious!!!
Its not enough that we ask every little question when we bring our cars in for service; do you have the proper lift equipment, do you know I have tire sensors, do you know this, are you aware of that, etc. etc.
If I ever have to bring my car in for service, I am going to make THEM [dealership] sign a vehicle condition report (much the same when you rent cars) holding them 100% responsible and accountable for damages.
IF ANYONE IS LISTENING THAT CAN PROVIDE SERVICE DEPARTMENTS ONE PIECE OF ADVICE WHEN IT COMES TO EXPENSIVE VEHICLES. TREAT THEM LIKE YOU WOULD TREAT A BABY. THAT'S THE WAY WE TREAT IT, THAT'S THE WAY YOU SHOULD TREAT IT.
PS: I got the CL recall notice. F*ck it! I'm buying the CL bypass!
