You generally get what you pay for... that cheap or free chrome will likely flake and/or peel off with time and road/weather conditions...THAT will look bad...

I work for an a big company that sends a lot of work to the chroming place and this is how I can get it done.I am sure they are a first rate plating company .Kind of like a "governtment "job.
Seems like a read on here somewherea vendor that offered 3 year warrenty on their chroming ,but I can't remember.
I got my wheels chromed at West Coast Corvettes... they came with a three years guarantee... Ive had them five years and they still look like i just bought themm.,,,

Thanks thats what I want to hear.If I get the chance to get it done I will ,should know something next week on this .I first looked at nickle plating but I don't think that would give me the shine like chrome.
Good luck with it and let us know the results. Personally I like the polished look. If properly done it looks like chrome with a warmer look to them. And if you ever scrap them it's easily polished out. Whereas the chrome is toast.

Boss man had a hitch plate chromed there 3 years ago and he got rearend right on it ,came out without a scratch .
I feel like you get what pay for-but if you feel that you are getting a quality job because you have seen their work than I would say go for it...also to add that I would usually say that it is not worth it,buy new rims and keep you old rims-but that is not the case here since you are getting them free or next to nothing-Go for it
