Default Exhaust Plate Installation

OK OK...I know my signature says I already have one of those High Performance Exhaust Plates on my car when in reality its still sitting on my kitchen table.

I got one from Corvette Garage and it has 4 or 5 adhesive strips on the back that I assume I just 'stick' to the ribs on that thingamabob in the back. Any recommendations on how to prep the area before I stick it on? It was relatively expensive for what it is so I don't want it falling off anytime soon.

Sure wish I could come up with funny threads like my friend Antonio BananaS but I'm just way too serious of a guy.

Oh well...at least I have a funny looking Avatar thing. Thats really me in the tie-dyed shirt on my bike.

Thanks in advance,

clean the area real well with some degreaser and then wipe with clean water. Then use alittle rubbing alcohol to prep the area. Once your sure it's good and clean attached exhaust plate. Make sure you have line up where you want before your stick it to the car. Once its on it aint comming off until you pry it off

Hey my 1,000 post . Clean the area well with soap/water that cuts thru grease. Clean again with Isopropyl alcohol. Line up your plate so that its centered and level and stick it on. Be very careful with lining it up because once you put it on, its on.

I placed an outline of masking tape before I placed mine. This will help you keep it straight. Don't forget once it is on it isnt coming off to easily. Then remove the tape.

Clean with brake or carb cleaner and just stick it on. I know of a lot of these that have been on for years and never came off.

Two words; Denatured alcohol. It will not leave any residue like rubbing alcohol.

Good luck!
