C5 alternator
Is the c5 alternator different than other chevy alternators? It seems like you can buy the chrome chevy alternators alot cheaper than the ones for a corvette. Does anyone know if the new MSD alternator will work on a C5?

Be careful; some of those cheap chrome alternators are junk. Find out who makes it before buying. That MSD unit looks pretty cool but there's nothing wrong with my stock one. I would get a hold of MSD about your application if I were you.

I don't know exactly what year GM changed the design, but they added a clutch to the alt, to limit the power output under 1000 rpms. That's the only difference I know about.

I think i will check with MSD tomorrow on the c5 corvette application, but i imagine if it was a can do thing, somebody from here would have already had it done. Thanks guys
