Battery is almost 4 yrs old. Looking to replace with an Optima Yellow top.... Started looking on the web and noticed there were several kinds.....

So which one is the right one for my Vette? Do the Optima's require any special brackets to hold the battery in place?
When I swap out batteries, will I screw up any electronics in the car...or my settings?

Thanks for the help in advance!

2. No special bracket.
3. Only your radio/clock resets, and if you have aftermarket programming, I think it goes default to OEM progamming.
I'd go with a red top, which is better for general purpose and engine cranking. The yellow top is a deep cycle battery that is best suited to power lots of accessories like running lights, high-performance stereo/AV systems and such.
I'm running a red top for starting and a yellow top (located in the drivers side rear storage compartment) to power my sound system and couldn't be happier with their performance

I have a $hiat load of electronics ... running a yellow top. Can you post pix of your second battery and maybe some details on how you hooked things up. I thought about doing some like that, bit never asked, didn't think anyone did that same. TIA.
You can click on my sig pic and get a few pics of my install showing the yellow top in the drivers side storage compartment or I can take additional pics and send if you're interested, just let me know.
In a nutshell, the red top is located in the engine compartment and I use a Stinger high current relay (can be seen in the first pic, about 8 inches in front of the yellow top) to isolate the yellow top and stereo components from the rest of the car electronics, so when the ignition is in accessory mode the stereo won't drain the red top, but when the car is running, the yellow top is charged.
If you're settled on a yellow top, I agree with the previous post about model, bracket, and settings. I put a red top in my car and the only setting I lost was the clock. I have an aftermarket alarm and subwoofer but felt the red top was sufficient.
