when i came home, i noticed something coming from under the hood of my car. parked in the garage, i could hear something *drop* and *sizzle/fry* under the hood. first i thought it sounded really nice reminding me of a chinese dish i had the other day called "sizzling hot plate of assorted seafood" but that didn't last long and
i'm going, 'what the ****???!!!' i've heard of the air condition water leak that causes interior flood and i wonder if that's what i'm facing here.
squeek, rattle, rainbow hud, cheap rattle of the clutch at idle and now the sizzle... do i have to expect the interior flood now? or is this something common?
did GM really fix those little problems while running the same C5 model for 7 years??? *sigh*
please inform me what i should do. what do i need to do to prevent the interior flood? thank you very much in advance!

That's sooo funny .... I had the same exact experience on Friday after I brought my car home from the dealer. I had the AC running and whatever it was, was hitting the heat shield or something very hot. I dripped very slowly, then stopped. I only heard maybe 5-6 drops. I just chalked it up to the AC, you know how it drips water after it's been used. I tried to look, but man! It was like sticking my head in a hot oven, I couldn't keep it there long enough to find the source, then it stopped! I wouldn't worry just yet ... just make sure you monitor it.
Just check ground where you park your car when you pull away. Hope this helps.
I don't know about the sizzle thing, however this reminds me of a topic that came up the other day at the gun club where we dispense wordly advise to the younger members. A young guy was in obvious despair because his girlfriend had started smoking. We told him to just slow down and use some lube.

Once it's cool check the A/C drain. Passenger's side between the firewall and the header. Best accessed from underneath. It comes out of the firewall and turns 90%. If it clogs it drains into the passengers side footwell. And that's not a good thing.
Every time I shut my Car/truck/Vette down a puddle forms underneath as the a/c drains. Of course I live in Mobile, Alabama where the humidity stays at around 90% or above and I seldom set my a/c on recirculate as I prefer fresh air that has been cooled rather than breathing the same old air.
