Slow down...You should be able to beat that price if you look around enough. I think most forum members have seen new '04's for less than that. $40K is a bit much for any C5 still for sale even if new.
I got my 03 AE Coupe with 7 miles on it and LOVE IT.
I just saw the C6 recently - it's ok - a smaller car by 4 inches and it looks it after you get used to the C5. With nice upgrades (GPS, Onstar, better heads-up display) and a better suspension - overall a really nice next generation Corvette.
BUT - I really like the Shale interior and the Anniversary Edition Red paint on these cars - there's nothing like it in red under the sunshine and I've had several people (car builders) inquire about the color (GM part number, RPO code, etc). Overall it's got all the features I need and it makes a great traveler - we've takes several trips during the past year and it's a great ride.
In OTHER words - I like the C5 and especially the AE Coupe!
But remember - you are the one driving it, sittin' in the drivers seat and enjoying the car so get what you feel best in!

True people have got 04s for less then 40k but not with the same features at the 03 AE. If I remember correctly the 03 AE came loaded and it was the only way to get the new magnetic shock dampening (it was standard), a pricy option. I use http://www.edmunds.com/ TMV pricing as a guide line for prices. It adjust for region, features, mileage and condition, etc. Assuming it is in perfect condition, loaded, has the roof package and a 6 speed, the price for a private seller in my zip code area would be 40k, dealer retail: 45k, trade in: 38.7k, Take around 1K off if it is an auto with a solid roof.

F55 suspension was optional on both the convertible and the coupe - regardless of whether it was an AE. Actually the only difference between the AE and all of the other 03's, was the Anniversary package, which gave you the Shale interior, the special Anniversary Red paint (beautiful under sunlight BTW! )and the champagne colored wheels. The Anniversary package cars were option group 1SC - which gave you the F55.
All 03's had the 50th Anniversary badging.
$40K for an AE with 100 miles is a brand new car in my mind! I don't think it's a bad price considering the equipment and the mileage. What was the in-service date for the warranty?

Doesn't sound like too bad a price for a car with only 100 miles. I love the AE package. They may come down a bit since you can get an '04 for about that price.
