Which Optima Battery for Z06
Which Red Top Optima batter is the correct part number for a Z06? My original Delco is petering out, and I would like to get an Optima today. Couldn't find any part numbers using the "search" feature. THanks!

i am not sure if optima has part #'s??? i thought that it was one type of battery size and you either chose the red top or the yellow top. might be wrong though, but the last time i bought one that was what i was told.

Shark, either the "75" size or the "78" size will work; the 78 is physically bigger and provides a bit more juice (depending on your needs). The yellow top is a deep discharge battery; you probably don't need it unless you play a zillion watt stereo system for hours on end at your local cruise-in. Optima has a little battery holddown clamp or "foot" to replace the stock piece which holds the battery down; you may find it useful to provide a bit more clamping surface area.

The direct replacement for my Z06 is a 34/78 series Red Top Optima Battery, every thing will fit the same as the stock one, But make sure you get the correct Optima hold down that has a radius in the hold down that will wrap around the center cylinder of the battery.
