Default TIPS on CLB installation

I just ordered the CLB from Thunderracing. From what I've read on the forum, installation is easy. I plan to follow the instructions I receive with the CLB to the tee. Are there any Dos/Donts/Tips I need to know?

Thanks!

Do it before the column locks up.

I have found that you dont have to pull the knee panel all the way out...
They show you that you have to pull it out all the way to the ignition switch and interior air temp sensor. I have found that you can just pull the left side loose and see down the column (adjust the tilt) to where the harness is. I can look down the column and reach under the dash without crawling down on the floor and looking up
I can install one in about 15 minutes now

Easy install.

I used this site:

http://www.97vette.com/howto/columnl...eparation.html

I found the install easy because I had a color print out. The only scary part was trying to find the correct color connector knowing that if you disconnect the BIG YELLOW wire the air bag will go off....

Also make sure that the metal clips that hold the bottom knee panel torq screws are in place and aligned correctly before putting the knee panel back on otherwise it may take a few mins. to align them with one hand while trying to put the screws back with the other.

Is this for real or ?? I find it hard to believe that the air bag module would be designed to detonate if a wire was disconnected!

The LS1howto site is very good - those are the instructions I used to install mine. Worked like a charm.

I'm not sure, but my instructions said DON'T TOUCH THAT WIRE so I stayed away from it. I guess it would make sense that it would go off because if you were in a bad accident and the wire got cut you would want it to still work. Though I would expect that the air bag would have already deployed by the time the wire got cut.

Either way it really is not an issue because it is not in the way...
