Yep, they sure do. I wouldnt say they backfile, but they do pop and gurgle as you start to engine break. A crossover X/H pipe would be needed to eliminate that. I kind of like the sound anyways
I'm kind of glad to see this topic, as I was going to post one similar. I guess I don't have anything to worry about according to the answers. I also have an 04 CE but it seeems the only time the loud popping / backfiring happens is when the engine is still cold. After it gets to operating temps it doesn't do it anymore.
......if you are slowing down and not doing so from a high rpm in each gear you will not get very much if any at all.

mufflers on my Z. If I let off at in any gear at 3,000 rpm or more you see women and children running for their lives and old men quiver in their boots.
