Default Check Engine Light

Hey guy's, after a great day of rim running and canyon carving (Man I love this car) I was on my way home, stopped at a stop sign and really nailed it hard getting away from the stop sign, and then my " check engine " light came on. Got home and did turn on key only - option - Push fuel four time thing to see if I could bring up any code, it replied back NO CODES, but it wouldn't reset.
Other than a diagnostic tool that you plug into the port under the dash is there any way of finding out what this is before I would have to take it to the dealer.

Did you check your gas cap and make sure it didn't come loose/off that last time you nailed it?

Random code thrown??
How any times do you hear the bells and look down to see "ABS/TC warming up"??
If it didn't set a code don't worry about it!!
You could wish the code in your home computer was as tight as in your car! If you did Bill Gates would be trying to sell the code for Linux apps that didn't work or crashed your system!!

Same problem has been occuring in my 03 Z. I took it in to the dealer, they couldn't isolate the problem...reset the codes...it ran fine for a week then boom....appeared again. I have done some independent research and isolated an apparent cause....headers and/or MAF. Most people I have talked to attribute it to the MAF I have, not so much the headers. I'm thinking of putting the factor MAF back on the vette to see if that works. If you have headers and/or MAF....this could have some relation. Keep us posted of your progress and I will do the same.

No I haven't put headers on yet, still looking for a smog legal set or a smog shop that will look the other way so I don't have to change them every other year/. I have reluctantly made an appointment at the dealer for next monday to do the washer change out thing so I will have them look at the check engine thing at that time
