Default Blackwing Installation

I have browsed the search board... with no avail... perhaps I am not looking for the right word..

I am going to buy a blackwing, but just want to know how easy it is to install.. maybe with some pictures.. can anyone link me to a previous post with this information on it? or provide it to me on here? thanks

This desire for my first and only mod comes after cleaning my engine compartment, took out the stock air filter, and stuffed my vacuum hose up to it... couldn't feel a dang bit of air rushing through on other side... just want to do this one mod...

I install an aftermarket intake but it wasn't a blackwing and it took 45 minute to install. It was very easy.

EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAASSSSSSS SSSSSSSYYYYYYYYYYYYY.

When we put it on a year or so ago I had no technical knowledge and it took about half an hour. The hardest part was getting the seal over the MAF again. . . but fairly simple

It's not difficult at all, you'll spend more time removing the stock air box and filter then installing the new unit. Taking your time 45 min sounds right.

I installed the Halltech Stinger Last weekend and in 1.0 hours I had it in (my first MOD). This weekend I had to replace one part and it took about 5 mins.

I agree the hardest part was taking off the stock air filter. I also found that gettting the plastic piece to slide into the throttle housing took a min or two to figure out (I am not sure if the blackwing will have the same issue).

Why stop at this one MOD? Lower the car is free and also easy. Also if you have a MN6 you need to do the CLB MOD....

Good luck...

It's easy to install. Took me about 30-45 minutes from start to finish.

Take your pick. Generally $200 and change, most supporting vendors sell them (PFYC.com, etc) I think I got mine from them. West Coast Corvettes has it for $229.00

I was going to put a Z06 cover on because it's cheap to do. How much does the blackwing cost and will you be able to feel the difference in power? Lt

You might want to try EBAY.
I have seen Blackwings on there. I bought a generic one on Ebay and am very happy with it.

Below are the '01 and '02 Z06 intakes but my '02 coupe had the same lid as the '01 Z06 did.

Just a couple things ... when you pull out the stock airbox the 2 gromets that hold the front in may fall off, look for them inside your front bumper, they are about the size of a quarter. Use a small flat screwdriver to pry up the center of the pushpins that hold down the stock airbridge, and lastly don't forget the adapter if you are putting your Blackwing on a 2001 or newer car ....
