First Blush

First I spent about 3 hours on the interior Saturday morning, cleaning what the dealer seemed to have missed, although I'll say they did an OK job. It has a ton of nooks and crannies, but it cleaned up so nice. The interior is a joy to look at, especially with the Shale color.
On the outside I cleaned her up real good and layed down a good coat of Maguires NXT, and then a coat of Maguires #26, and WOW did the paint pop. The Le Mans Blue has a hint of metal flake in it, and it just wanted to jump off the car. Really a stunning paint job. There was no orange peal anywhere. Chevy did an outstanding job painting the car.
Oh yeah almost forgot, but washing and waxing this car is totally a sexual experience. I chased my wife around the house for an hour after I was done.
My first driving impressions are as follows. It is an increadibly easy car to drive at speed. When taking off camber or closing radius turns the car pivots amazingly, what is more amazing is it feels like the pivot point is almost dead center in the car. It is point and shoot at it's finest. The 1st to 4th thing is coming out immediatly, although the engine does not seem to mind it one bit. The power is way smoother than I expected, not much harshness there at all, (although I'm being nice to her for a few more hundred miles) The rush just seems to be endless, but I'm sure I'll outgrow it soon enough. The stick shift is half to an inch to tall, I'll need to rectify that in the near future. The gear box is percise and clean, but it could be tighter and shorter. The gears seem to be spaced perfectly and ask to be shifted often, however the engine is amazingly able to use almost any gear it is in, so if you get lazy the car does not seem to mind a bit. It is so easy to find a great driving position. I programed in a comfortable position in memory 1 and an agressive driving position in memory 3. The car sounds pretty nice for a stock vehical, but for sure the exhaust is first to come off.
So far I am in total WOW mode, and I can feel the mod craze coming on...
Peace

I don't mean to bring you down but, all C5's have orange peel. On most C5's it doesn't jump out at you, as you might think. Try looking at different angles and light. I didn't think mine had it either until I did that. I don't think I really understood what orange peel was until I finally saw it on mine. It's even on the C6, just not as bad.

Here's to miles of smiles
As far as I can tell, the feeling never does subside. Here's a wave from the northeast for you
