Today while driving with a very low gas tank, I got the message "remove key and wait 10 seconds." I was in the middle of an intersection, so I humbled along (with no power whatsoever) until I could pull over, shut down, remove key, etc. When I restarted, everything was fine.
You can find even more threads using the Forum search feature, especially if you search on words such as column lock or column lock recall.
Good luck!
I didn't go through all of the threads you listed, but I've never heard of an exact situation like he has, where the car has been driven for a while and some association with low fuel.
The driver provided the low fuel info, the car ided the error condition which was unrelated to the low fuel situation. Next!
Correct. But he said "Today while driving with a very low gas tank, I got the message "remove key and wait 10 seconds." I was in the middle of an intersection".
Even without the 'low gas' comment, he said he was driving. He didn't say the car died. Maybe he can clear up that point. Otherwise, it's the same only different.

Sounds like someone who has had the recall "fix" performed and then got bit anyway....they re-flashed the computer and now when the dreaded CL occurs your fuel gets cut off.....sweet fix GM....
That reminds me...need to run to the mailbox and see if my refund check is there for my CLB....Thanks GM
