I am going out this morning to change the oil on my Vette and need a real quick run down of directions or just a link to a post that already covered this. I appreciate the help.
Thanks Again,
Joe
The oil change is really easy bud only takes like 45 min. Im 18 years old so and i did my first oil change on the car when i was 17 so if i can do it anyone can.
Can't one use Rhino Ramps as well? Is it not possible to drive a non lowered vette onto the Rhino Ramps?
I used a sheet of 1/2" plywood about 3 feet long as a ramp onto the ramps. But it's because i had scraps laying around from the hurricanes that came through.
The biggest problem i found with the rhino ramp's were getting the whole tire onto the flat portion.

So one cannot simply use the standard Rhino ramp alone. You'd have to add a little "ramp" to get onto the Rhino ramp itself. Does it scrape and where if you tried without your homemade plywood ramp?

You can if you're not lowered and you place a piece of carpet or a towel under the ramp such that the tire and ramp are both on at the same time to prevent relative movement. Just remember you need to get the rear a little bit higher than the front to get all the old oil out because the drain plug is on the front of the pan.

My car is lowered (turned the bolts all the way down) and I still use my Rhino Ramps for oil changes. The front air dam rubs when I drive up but that's no big deal. I also have no problem with fitting the full width of my OEM front tires on the ramps. I have a declined driveway so I back my Vette into the garage, lay down the ramps a little ways down the driveway and then drive up on them. I end up with the front a little lower than the back, which is perfect for an oil change.
