You may scare quite a few away with your thread title unintentionally.

To answer your question - yes. The M6 is a more flexible setup with respect to exhaust choices because you have the ability to shift away from a resonance zone that a particular exhaust system may produce unpleasant NVH at by up or down shifting. The LS1-T56 combo is very forgiving due to it's broad torque band which allows the driver to choose a gear that moves cruising rpms to a more tolerable non-resonant region.

There are exhaust systems out there that are touted for there lack of resonance and are good choices for A4's. Corsa and GHL are two prominent examples. The stock Z06 factory catback is also a good choice.

Why would that happen? Everyone knows the MN6 is better.

Since he's asking about exhaust ... I retract my previous statements. Ooops! Thanks.

Read zman3's post and all the quote making reference to zman3's post, he is the one that opened a can of worms not BSRRT. So that is where the tranny reference is coming from

Just installed Borla Stingers 2 Tip on my 2001 Coupe with a A4.

In order to remove the stock system, I had to CUT the passenger side stock pipe to get it past the A4.

The Stingers installed with room to spare.

I have ZERO resonance at any RPM with the Stingers. I just drove to Canada from New England (1244 miles round trip) and it sounded AWESOME all the way.

My .02 cents worth

Sorry gang. Being relatively new here I didn't think that my sarcastic comment would hijack the discussion. That was not my intention. I'll go sit in the corner for a while and think about what I have done.

Do worry about it as long as your are going to buy the beers.

Take a look at this locked thread about A4 vs the 6 spd

"jumbo shrimp" or automatic trans in a vette?

That ought to keep the fun going.
