I used to have the cheapo ones where you stick them in the valve & a rod pops out. Now I have digital tire guages from the one of the car places on the internet. Mine have always been accurate.
I don't know of a specific brand that is supposed to be the most accurate.
I bought a professional grade racing guage with a bleeder button and a 12 inch hose. It uses an analog style pointer. The bleeder button allows you to bleed the tire pressure down to the correct level (which is 30 psi cold). Cost about $25 or so.
BTW, I also bought the small 12 vDC air compressor from Wal-Mart for about $15 or so. It plugs into the accessory outlet in the Vette and works great. It fits into the right rear storage area in my coupe with the rest of my emergency tire repair kit.
