im looking at Ebay corvettes - tio get an idea of prices etc
On some of the cars they indicate that there is damage to the side panels due to speed bumps..
This seems strange.. if i were in a world class vehicle i would go slow over any bumps..
Do you think that this is an indication of an abused car? or at least a non cvared for car? or is that type of damage unavoidable??

I go over speed bump very slowly and sometime it still bumps at times. Plus if a car is lowered it has a greater chance of damage. It all depend on the height of the speed bump. Where my friend works, they have a speed bump that looks llike a mountain to the vette. I will not go over that one.
thanks it seemed strange, and yes i could see bottoming out but on a few of the cars they showed some serious looking damage.. i wanted to verify that damage should not be caused unless it was probably an abused or careless driver..
thanks

Just my opinion but God knows we've all bottomed out/scraped things even at stock height. I wouldn't completely rule out the car because of it. It depends on the damage. I'd ask for pictures and an inspection by third party close to the car and then you can decide with all the facts.

Well, just read your post above.....nevermind. If it looks that bad, run don't walk away.

Must be really hitting that speed bump hard if it damaged the side panels. I am assuming they are not talking about the side portions of the front air deflectors. Think I would pass on the car.

I've seen many development with high enough speed bumps (especially on private property) that the bottom of the side sills may scrape. Ask for pictures.
Mine hits from time to time but you cant see any damage looking at the car from the side anyway. It sure sounds bad when it happens though. A car with damage like that car I would not consider. Looks like it was jumping speed bumps!
yeah. curb damage. not speed bump damage. speed bump damage would be along the flat bottom side of the rocker and not on the side like that....i have seen tons of them that have caught a curb....the people i have talked ot that have that it seems to occur more often with people with steep driveways, they go in it right at the edge of the curb so they can have the most room to go in at the least angle and sometimes apparently they just get careless or relaxed and either come in too close or too far from teh curb and scrape it. am i making sense? anyway, thats what ive seen anyway.
