Default [Stupid] Security Shade Question...

Hi. I'm embarassed to admit this but I can't figure this out. How does the security shade fit in the rear of a c5 coupe? I bought one from Gene's Karshop and I can't figure out how to put it in.

I got two of the chords to connect to the part rear latch that lifts up. I could not however get it to attach to the rear connectors near the rear storage compartments. Does that make sense?

I bought the thing in hopes that it would cover my stereo. If someone has a picture lemme know.

I did not buy the cargo net that goes in the very rear. Was this a mistake?

Thanks,
Noel

You've got 4 connectors on the hatch.... the flap goes to the front. I love the cargo net

As per above, the shade connects to 4 points on the hatch - 2 near the front of the hatch and 2 near the rear. There is a loose flap that falls from the front connections point (the stock shade has a small tag sewn into the rear edge of the shade that says REAR). As you lift the hatch, the entire shade lifts with it.

From your description, it sounds like you're trying to connect the shade to the connection points above the storage compartments - those connectors are for the cargo net.

Ok so I guess I just missed 2 connectors? I'm at work so I'll check this out when I get home.

Thanks for the info.

In the owner's manual it says to hook the elastic loops on the front corners of the shade to the T-nuts located on the front corners of the rear hatch frame.

I keep the shade on all of the time as it eliminates any reflection from the interior on the back window.

I consider the cargo net an essential item as it keeps things in the rear cargo area from flying around and hitting you or your passenger duirng agressive driving. On a recent trip that involved some autocross runs I took two full face helmets and after the runs I just set the helmets in the back; at the first stop guess what happened.

Too bad you are going to be at the Brewery all day tomorrow or we could have a "mod" party at CathDoc's BBQ and put that in!

The security shade actually has four attachment points on the hatch itself. Two are near the rear edge of the hatch and two up front. You may be missing the two up front if they are not readily apparent from looking near the speaker area.
